SANDUSKY — Deni E. Lieb, 39, residing in Sandusky, lost her battle with addiction on Saturday evening, June 13, 2020, at her home.

Deni was born on Feb. 11, 1981, in Sandusky to Dennis and Debra (Caskey) Lieb.

Deni graduated from Sandusky High School in 1999. Her playful, outgoing, easy-to-love personality will be missed by many. She loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.

All of the wonderful blessings that she had — talent, friendships, a positive outlook on life and, most importantly, family — were sidelined by a wrong decision to do drugs. Deni battled with addiction for many years.

In the end, her addiction ended her life much too soon. She successfully completed drug rehab, but the craving that comes from true addiction was more than she could overcome.

If there is someone in your life battling addiction, reach out to them. So many lives are lost every day. The stigma of embarrassment and denial must be overcome.

To all children, this is a simple reminder that there are people who love you with everything they have and no matter what you do. Don't be too afraid or ashamed to ask for help.

To all parents, pay attention to your children and the world that revolves around them. Even when the surface is calm, the water may be turbulent just beneath.

Deni is survived by her children, Malachi Campbell and Malek Campbell, both of St. Robert, Missouri; father, Dennis Lieb of Sandusky; sister, Melissa (Tommy Eastman) Lieb of Findlay; brothers, Marcus (Misty) Trapp of Bay View and Adam (Elizabeth) Lieb of Sandusky; nieces and nephews, Haley, Jacob, Cody, Carter, Kaden, Lucy and Flynn and many family and friends.

Deni is preceded in death by her mother, Debra, in 2014; sisters, Jennifer Trapp in 2001 and Charlotte Trapp in 2017; niece, Elisabeth Bishop in 1998 and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Rev. Dr. Eric Bodenstab will officiate services.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute to Deni's memory may do so to her family, c/o Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870.

Condolences may be shared online at grofffuneralhomes.com.
